The Wood & Furniture Cluster FVG is a pivotal consortium dedicated to the advancement of the wood and furniture sector in the region. Central to its mission is innovation, aimed at aiding companies in their transition toward a greener and more sustainable industry.
As a partner in the Erasmus+ FLIER project, the Cluster has actively contributed to the upskilling and reskilling of the workforce. Notably, it has played a significant role in the development of a training course focused on eco-design and sustainable practices. This initiative has enabled workers in the furniture industry to familiarize themselves with the latest regulatory updates on eco-design at the European level. Participants also gained valuable insights into the new curriculum for the circular furniture designer.
Promoting circularity within this vital sector remains a priority for Cluster Legno Arredo which is working to bridge the gap between industry and academia through its Innovation Platforms project. This initiative is designed to cultivate new skills and competencies, ultimately contributing to the innovation and sustainability of the wood and furniture industry along with the support of the regional and national level.
In June, Cluster Legno Arredo organized a physical mobility activity for students at the Eco-design Innovation Platform in Manzano. This event provided a valuable knowledge transfer opportunity, where international learners participated in a practical workshop centred on the project’s themes.
During the mobility activity, participants visited VET schools and Fab Labs, gaining firsthand experience within companies that exhibit best practices related to circular design. This exposure allowed them to see the practical application of the knowledge acquired during the pilot course, enhancing their understanding of how to implement circular design principles effectively.
Through these initiatives, the Cluster is not only empowering the workforce with essential skills but also fostering a sustainable future for the wood and furniture sector, underlining its commitment to innovation and best practices in eco-design.
